• Marketplace Listing Details: Listing title, descriptions, category attributes (brand, model, condition, specifications, dimensions, pricing, rental terms etc), uploaded photographs/videos, and geographic locality.
• Automatic & Diagnostic Data: IP addresses, browser details, device characteristics (operating system, screen resolution), referring URLs, and interaction logs.
• Requirements Board Activity: Posts describing items, services, or rentals you are looking for or offering, comments, likes, and callback requests you make or receive.
• Ratings & Reviews: Star ratings, completed deal metrics, and descriptive feedback tags shared between users after a transaction.
• Uploaded Media: Photos and media files uploaded for listings or requirements, securely stored by our cloud storage partner, Cloudflare R2.

5. Communication & Connection Facilitation

Providing your contact information on BrokAway enables direct peer-to-peer interaction between buyers, sellers, and service seekers.

• Direct Deal Coordination: When you enquire about a listing, send an offer, or message a seller, your relevant contact information (name, phone number, email) is shared with the listing creator so both parties can communicate, negotiate, and finalize handovers directly.
• Counterparty Profile Access: You receive access to the listing poster's public profile, badges, ratings, and contact info to verify their reputation before meeting.
• Transactional Updates: Important account notifications, OTPs, password resets, and security updates via SMS or email.
• Requirements Board Callbacks: When you request a callback on a Requirements Board post or view an enquirer's details, your phone number (or email) is shared with the other party for direct communication.

6. Peer-to-Peer Safety & Intermediary Disclaimer

BrokAway is an online classifieds discovery platform. We facilitate peer-to-peer connections and discovery, not transactions or escrow.

Zero Advance Payment Advisory: Across all categories — whether buying smartphones, vehicles, furniture, booking services, or renting accommodation — NEVER transfer advance payments (token amounts, courier charges, or security deposits) to unverified strangers before physically inspecting the item, testing functionality, or meeting in person.

Personal Safety: Conduct all meetings, inspections, and test drives in well-lit, busy public places during daylight hours. Bring a friend or family member whenever possible.

BrokAway does not take custody of, inspect, warehouse, or deliver items or verify services. We are not liable for private financial transactions, off-platform disputes, or inaccurate descriptions provided by third-party users.

7. Platform Integrity & Responsible Data Handling

We share data only for service fulfillment, platform security, and legal compliance.

• Counterparty Privacy Responsibility: Once contact details are shared between prospective buyers, sellers, or service providers, each user is independently responsible for treating that information respectfully and strictly for the intended transaction.
• Fraud & Spam Monitoring: We continuously monitor platform traffic and automated logs to detect and prevent scam attempts, abusive behavior, and duplicate spam listings.
• Reports & Moderation: When you report a listing, user, or post, our moderation team reviews the reported content and associated logs to take appropriate enforcement action.
• Legal Compliance: Information may be disclosed to law enforcement or statutory regulatory bodies when strictly required by applicable Indian law or court orders.
